Spss..!

Hello Uni peeps/ students - I was wondering if anyone on MSE has got a good grasp of SPSS? Im doing my 3rd yr Psychology dissertation and SPSS has never been my strong point! ( understatement of the century  )

Basically Im using regression analysis on SPSS because Im using Likert scales for my questionnaires - but I dont know how to extract the info from the scales to input it into SPSS?? :o

I understand the concept of regression analysis (more than one IV to predict a DV) but Im stumped on how to USE the results Ive got.

Confused? :rotfl: I am. Thanks in advance if anyones SPSS savvy :D

ps. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum :o I thought this would be the best bet!

that will answer any questions you have! step by step examples of multiple regression with what buttons to press in spss. if you need more, buy his text book as it is one of most widely used by psychologists and is pitched very well for people who are new to statisticsc.

i don't really understand the question - if you have scores from each person on the scales, that's your input? or do you want scores that summarise a group of questions rather than each question going in separately?

are these standardised questionnares or ones you have made yourself? if standardised, use the same method of scoring as everyone else does. if not, then it's tricky - how you score scales needs to really be thought of before the data analysis stage....

  • The "Discovering Statistics using SPSS" book (mentioned through the link given above) will almost certainly explain everything you need. And, yout Uni library will probably have many copies.
