Cashback Accident Plan

Hi - was after some advice.
OH was approached where he was working today about a Cashback Accident Plan from Combined Insurance.
He is self employed and rides a bike so thought it might be a good idea. However the rep has only given him a pamphlet with no small print and I can't get on their website...hmmmm.
Anyone have any experience of this place or are there better policies out there that we should look for?
We're currently renting and his job is manual so injury = time off = no money.
Thanks
C

I would be quite sceptical if there are no details to be honest.
You might want to consult an advisor.
For example you don't want to take a policy that excludes biking.
If you go DIY then you accept the responsibiity for making sure you get the right product.
If you get a professional then you can at least get compensation if they get it wrong, but hopefully you'd get the right product to give you the right cover for your individual circumstances.0 -
Hi,
I think this is your first policy or this policy is combine. I request that please try to consult any insurance agent or member.
Thanks,

Thank you Mark Janet - having looked at some of your other posts, even if your reply made sense (it doesn't by the way) then I wouldn't be taking your advice.
Anyway....anyone familiar with this company or this kind of product. It's fairly straightforward but I'm a little suspicious about that!
The premiums are approx £12 per month and cover for breakages, overnights in hospitals etc. The cashback seems overly generous for the premium.
If anyone knows of anything similar and stand alone (we don't have life cover as no mortgage etc) then please let me know.0 -
OK have just found this.....not sounding so great now!!

Anyway, bad rep, bad product etc....speak to an advisor for an more all round opinion.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I don't know that particular plan, but from time to time you see Accident and/or Injury insurance advertised with straplines like 'pay up to £1 million' - but when you read the small print you discover that you have to go blind in both eyes and lose a leg on a bank holiday (I'm not exaggerating). One such policy only paid the advertised million if you were declared permanently paralysed or permanently insane - I wrote and asked them what this meant (would a break like Christopher Reeves qualify? how do you know someone's permanently insane until they've died in the local State Home for the Bewildered) and boy did they wriggle!
Another bit of the 'small print' made it clear that no help would be forthcoming for 13 weeks after the incident, in case you got better on your ownsome - so just at the time when you'd be needing some assistance you wouldn't get it.
Tread very, very carefully. And read that small print with avid scepticism.0 -

That's the way combined work. Their policies tend to be low quality targeting the bottom end of the market.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Charming :rotfl:
OK then different question - are there different products of this sort of thing on the market? Where you don't have to go and see an advisor (same way as I wouldn't see one for car / home / travel insurance).0 -

Sorry, it wasnt meant rudely but that is the method and targeting that combined use.OK then different question - are there different products of this sort of thing on the market? Where you don't have to go and see an advisor (same way as I wouldn't see one for car / home / travel insurance).
You cant mostly. PHI is the best type of income protection and it has virtually no internet coverage as it doesn't fit with the low work/easy profit model that quote sites like. They tend to stick to budget plans like PPI or MPPI.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
