hi Guys,
Hope you can help, if this post is in the wrong place please feel free to move to an appropriate board,
My Wife is Pregnant and is having complication's this has therefore stopped use been able to go on holiday in mod april, i have rang the holiday company, who are unable to refund or move the holiday, even if we pay a little xtra, we paid this on our Credit Card, we stand to lose over £200, small price to ensure baby is ok, but on the other hand we're paying for a holiday we'll never get,
is there anything we can do or is this a lost cause, and just cut our loses
Thanx

If you took out insurance you *may* be covered but pregnancy might be in the exclusions section. However pregnancy complication may not be.
I have pre-existing conditions and take out a special uber-all singing all dancing insurance to cover these conditions. I pay more for it but at least I am covered having been stung once by "standard" insurance.0 -
This is an insurance Job, check with what ever insurances you have in place. This may be dedicated insurance or back insurance (some bank accounts give free travel insurance.
The holiday company unfortunately can keep your money once you have booked."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -
It is irrelevant in this instance if you paid by credit card or not. You need to claim from your insurance company if your not insured and there is no way you can sell the holiday cut your losses and move on.
Hope all is well with your wife and child"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Most definitely check what your insurance policy says.
Mine says (under cancellation) covered for complications in pregnancy provided there have been no complications in pregnancy with this or any previous pregnancy.
Obviously, they would need a doctor's certifcate to confirm the complications.
If you're not insured, I think you'll have to kiss goodbye to what you've paid.
Best wishes for the future.0 -

True but some credit cards automatically cover for (usually very limited) travel insurance when it is used to pay for the trip.0 -
We were in the same boat 6 years ago. We booked before I became pregnant, but didn't take out cancellation insurance - because we were never going to need it, were we?
Anyway, I was in and out of hospital, and was actually taken into hospital the day before we were due to go.
He took his mum to France for 17 days instead!0
