Assume it is an older one - 9200 or such?

If so it could be the hard drive starting to fail - I replaced my 9200 one a couple of months ago - cost about £30 and is very easy to do.

Have a look at one of the Humax forums for advice/assistance - digitalspy is a good one

  • - If the drive is goosed - it's goosed !
    - You may need a software update - see your download schedule or see URL below
    - You may have ' cross linked files ' do a format [ you will lose everything on the HDD ] but it should cure the cross link problem if one exists !
    - You may have transponder problems, as rsvtoddy says digitalspy or AVForums is a good place to start

  • Think a new hard drive is the way to go. Don't want to re format & lose the lot.Hopefully may be able to piggy back it as an external.
    thanks again Sue

Have you tried unplugging the box from the mains, leaving it for a minute and then plugging back in - that sometimes helps to sort things out.

Otherwise you could try doing a reset to default settings - the box will need to rescan for channels and any scheduled recordings will need to be set back up.

I'd try these two suggestions before anything else - Humax 9200s seem to have little glitches from time to time which a complete power off and/or reset to default often sorts.
