What happens when goods are returned back by courier?

Hi

Asking this on behalf of a friend.

Friend orders stuff from Amazon, only cheap goods, not worth more than about £6.

City Link delivers goods while friend at work, card left with phone number asking to contact to re-deliver. Friend phones after 6ish and there's no answer.

City Link tries to deliver next day, friend is in work so can't accept delivery. Friend tries to contact City Link again to re-arrange another delivery date but they won't as they only deliver twice and its send back to depot. Friend has no transport to get to depot, which is miles away and there's no direct bus link. If there were, it would cost far more than the £6 worth of goods.

City Link are going to return the goods to Amazon.

What happens next? Will she get a full refund of P&P from Amazon, or will they try to redeliver and charge another load of P&P?

Thanks for reading, I can't give her any advice as I've never come across this before myself!

Thanks, the one good thing about the Royal Mail is that they'd have taken it to the local depot 2 miles away. Far easier to collect a parcel :rotfl:

  • hi. Amazon will issue a full refund. as a new member i can't post a link but go to Amazon and click on 'help' (top right) then 'more' under 'dispatch & delivery' on the left then click 'Undeliverable Packages'.

i don't know why people still use CityLink!
