How do I know if I WAS mis-sold PPI

Hello,
I have read a few threads on this subject but I am at a loss to if I was actually mis-sold PPI
I have a credit card and loan with Egg and a credit card with MBNA (Via A&L)
I took PPI on all three as at the time as I assumed it was the right thing to do, but now, of course, I know that it probably wasn't!
At no time, from what I remember, was I made aware the PPI was available elsewhere. I have now cancelled it on my Egg Card and A&L Card but it is still have it on my loan (I have no idea why I haven’t cancelled this to, just never gotten around to it I guess)
My question is can I claim??
I’m not really sure if I was mis-sold or I was just being a bit gullible and assumed that I should get it.
Is it worth sending them the template letter and seeing what happens?
Thanks
Caro

Hello there
There is still a possibility you can still reclaim, as there are many reasons that may also apply to you.
I would check Martin's guidelines of reclaiming on below link and of course post up from help from there if you believe you are eligible, good luck.;)

not grounds for complaint. Their remit is to sell their product. Not anyone else's.My question is can I claim??
Not on the reason above. However, there may be other reasons.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
