Nil Tax Code

Thoughts anyone on the following situation -
nil tax code applied Dec, rang Moonbeever to confirm amount of tax to pay as salary had gone up since going br in April 09 and an original nil tax code IPA had been given, was given a new tax figure.
sent payslip for dec.
finally received advice on how to pay tax to MB (3 months later in March) and a monthly figure which had increased by £30!
we were also given a figure to 'bring our account up to date' which we duly sent.
the figure we were given was for two months worth of tax although we had three months put away although at the lesser amount as advised on the phone in December.
now we have received a letter today saying we are in arrears and need to send December's payment.
two issues here - they are wanting an extra £90 that we didn't put away as we were advised of a lesser amount to put aside on the phone in December and it took them 3 months to write to us advising how to pay etc...
and - in the last letter it gave us a figure to 'bring our account up to date' which we sent, so how can they technically say we are in arrears when we sent the figure stated to bring the account up to date?.

I would write to Moonbeever explaining exactly what you have said in this post, and attach a statement of your figures how much you believe you owe for each month and how much you have paid them!
