Conservatory company I used in now in Administration.
If you've read my posts you'll know who they are.
Contract for £22,000 - paid them £17,600 so far (cash).
I know please don't lecture on the cash issue - stupid husband didn't want to use his credit card!
Oh how I wish I had a time machine!
Anyway - wrong roof style, took 1yr to build, then we find out they went into administration in january but seems to be some confusion over if their trading under a different name that what our contract states.
Contract isn't worth toilet paper anyway as they breached just about every part of it anyway.
Do we still have to pay, had no reply to a letter sent over 3 weeks ago now, requesting information from the HQ of the company. Also spoke to the Administrators who are still trying to unravel the many "threads" of the company.
Get to the chase woman - WHO IS ALLOWED TO ASK US FOR THE FINAL PAYMENT?

The company is still technically alive and kicking, all they have done by going into administration is protect themselves from their creditors, albeit temporarily.
The company can still ask for the money, as can the administrator or its agents.
However given what you've said its unlikely i'd be parting with any more cash until the problems were rectified...0 -
Is it still the wrong roof style? If yes, then tell them you will happily pay the final instalment once they have come and changed the roof. Sorry, I haven't read all you other posts - I assume that it has been built fully now.0

thanks for your replies.
Conservatory is built but with a catalogue of errors and wrong roof style that the company are chosing to ignore.
They wrote to us asking us to confirm we'd pay the balance once Building Control passed it. Again I wrote an irrate letter asking why things had been changed without our consent and they haven't bothered to reply.
I wait and see what the next few weeks bring.

Have had a chance to read you other posts, and feel your pain. In your position, I would use the money you have kept (for your last payment) to hire someone local and professional to make good the conservatory as best possible. I would even consider taking the original company to court for damages relating to the multitude of delays, changes to the plan, and any extra costs you have endured in getting the conservatory complete. However, as they are in administration I fear it may be too late for this. Let this serve as a reminder to everyone that if a service is taking months and months to deliver, just cancel the contract and get someone reliable in. Given the circumstances here, you'd have nothing to fear relating to action against you by the firm.
