Halifax - RBS

Morning guys just wondering if you could help me here.

Last month i fell behind with my halifax credit card payments and as such i made the phone call and told them i was struggling. They acknowledged this and said it would be okay if i made a bigger payment this month to balance it out.

However last week they took money out of my halifax account without telling me. (yes i know they can do this). I made another phone call to them to tell them i had arranged a sort of payment plan and they dismissed i had ever called them.

I have changed my account to my bank of scotland account while i am talking to them about this as i am making a big payment to them at the end of this month and dont want them taking any more money before this.

My question is, can Halifax take money out of my Rbs account in any way?

Bank of Scotland or Royal Bank of Scotland? You mention both.

Just to extend the point, since Halifax and Bank of Scotland are part of the same group, then a BoS account is not safe from the claws of Halifax. An RBS account would be.

  • They won't be able to access your RBS account as it's a completely separate bank. If it was Bank of Scotland they could.
