Income and expenditure form deadlines?

Hi

I have been going down the hardship route for reclaiming my bank charges with Nationwide.
They had requested that I fill in an income and expenditure form, this I did and put in the post by recorded delivery approx 10 days ago, I have had no response as of yet.
My question, does anyone know if there is a deadline by which the bank has to respond to this form? What have been other peoples experience with this? Should I send a follow up letter?

Thanks for your help in advance

  • If they've already confirmed that they are considering your complaint (which it sounds like they have) they do not have to confirm receipt of any further supporting evidence you send them afterwards. You might not hear from them again until they make a decision, might be worth giving them a call to make sure they've got everything they need now.

There is no real timescale as such because they may clarify information given. They have 8 weeks from the point the respond to your first letter before you can go to the FOS so count 8 weeks from receipt of the first letter.
