ok - I've watered the plant with washing up liquid (diluted).
I've picked rhubarb leaves and soaked them in water, and..........

I've picked off as many of the little b****rs as I can - and some of them were quite big  but I DID IT - WITHOUT GLOVES. Oh I feel soooo brave

I'm just going for a lie down with a BIG glass of something strong.

Thanks for the tips + I'm going to see if I can get some derris tomorrow.

I've got a similar problem in my garden - everything is bring eaten except for the tomato plants  I had a beautiful garden full of flowers, lettuce and other veg and nearly everything has been reduced to stalks. I've taken to collecting the caterpillars I can spot in a bucket and then pouring boiling water onto them :o
