Scrappage Scheme revealed as a Con

Fiat Panda Active Eco £4,999 after £2,000 deducted through scrappage scheme.

Advertised today by Fiat at £5,995. Small print-offer not available with any other offer.

If any evidence was needed that the buyers were being ripped off this is it.

Shameful deception by the manufacturers and the government

lol @ the government bit. In fact, just lol in general. I can only hope you don't ever bother voting. Yes, it must be gordon browns fault that fiat, ford, vauxhall etc put their prices up by up to £1000. And besides, now scrappage is al but over, the dealers need some way of bringing new customers in.

They just can't win can they !!!!!!.

it was to be expected. i pointed this out on a thread last week about the fiat panda.
there was no £1000 contribution from the manufacturer, all they did was put £1000 on the price then take it off again for scrappage.

most seen it coming, some got taken in by it and used the scrappage scheme thinking they were getting something for nothing.

    Hmmm.

I'd say its Fiat trying to ensure that they sell cars after scrappage by dropping their prices as far as they can.

    Most manufacturers are doing it.

Its all smoke and mirrors to get cars shifted.

It's not as good as it sounds- nor is it a big scam. It was £6100 when scrappage was on too at least at my local Fiat garage.

    Totally agree with you.

Of course the manufacturers are going to have massive deals on now to encourage as many people in to their showrooms as they had during scrappage.

There has been a strong expectation that there would be some HOT deals after scrappage ended, and now those are appearing people are complaining.

It was the government that introduced the scheme, not the manufacturers, in case you forgot.

I think you missed the point.
