Why do people rinse them? That's a serious question as I was never taught to do it.

All my washing up is dried as soon as I've finished, or sooner if OH is feeling helpful. If there's anything missed it goes round again.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

It never occurred to me to rinse the dishes after I washed them. :o I purposely leave them to drain rather than dry them because I have read/believe tea-towels are one of the biggest harbourers of germs that there are.

i do under a running hot tap before i put them in the drainer

I do that too but OH doesn't on the rare occasion that he washes up! Then I just leave them to dry naturally, much more hygienic!;)

I dont fancy the idea of dried on leftover fairy liquid suds on my dishes so always rinse them!:D

Weird - this is how I wash up, but I never knew it was an 'official order'! I've always done it this way - I was in the Brownies and the Guides so maybe there was something implanted in my brain that I've forgotten but is subliminally working away!

The above article mentions rinsing - I rinse the suds cos I try to keep down the amount of oestrogen we take in. Plus I hate tea that tastes soapy

God you lot do it all so simple compaired to me :o

I rince them all down so most of the muck is off, then I seperate everything, all cutlery goes into a measuring jug, clean the sink and drainer, plates go in first with cutlery to the side, then I refil sink to do glasses, cups and measuing jugs, refil again to do pans, and fill the sink with about 2" of water for the sides, doors, tiles and cooker, then using a glass rince them off with cold water.

T'is very complicated and inticate  But it gets the job done and I am a stickler for it.

Oakdale - I'm sure it was in the Brownie handbook (circa 1980), unfortunately I dont have it anymore to check. I doubt it's in the modern version though, probably teaches them how to stack a dishwasher instead!
