Suffice to say, ADSL interference is very distinctive so, if you get it, fit a filter.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

OK, well I have all of the properly wired house slave/extension sockets connected to one ADSL filter. Obviously I can't exceed the REN but they are all filtered for use, if and when required.

Extension and slave are the same thing, and that was from the days I used to buy slave sockets and install them for people, yes as a trade.
They were always labelled up either master or slave, it's only the last few years where people have been installing their own sockets that they are often described as extensions. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

It doesn't really matter, front or back! Not everyone has a NTE5 master socket with a removable bottom section. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
