Barclays PPI advice

Hi.

I think that I have a case for PPI reclaim but I have one major worry. I have a loan with Barclays that was originally for £15k. When I purchased the loan the sales assistant was incredibly pushy saying that they were recommending that I take the insurance on her system and that I might not get the approval without it. I took the insurance out (unfortunately).

So I believe I have a case. I am worried though as I bank with Barclays and am concerned that they can play "hardball" with me if I start reclaiming, maybe stopping my overdraft etc.

I have a bit of evidence for my case as after my loan was taken out, the bank person who sold me the loan kept on posting me loan applications for me to sign for more money, saying I could save more by taking out more loans - all with PPI. I decided not to take a higher loan as my repayments were bad enough as they were - but this should show how intent she was at selling.

What do you think - I'm nearly at the end of the loan now but I'm rather annoyed that she kept posting more loan forms for more money so that I could pay my barclaycard off too. THe one I kept even has a note from her asking me to sign it and return it to her with the PPI part highlighted - talk about a pushy sales girl.

Let me know what you think - I really would love to claim this money back and think I have a case but am really concerned that Barclays could stop my overdraft in retalliation.

Many thanks for any advice.

    Hi and welcome

I can understand what your saying here, but your only rightfully reclaiming what is yours, you do have a case if mis sold and pressurised by the staff member.
And there is a lending code they should follow to treat customers fairly.
The lending code I believe was updated in October 2009 maybe not even that far back. But they must treat you fairly and should not discriminate you just because your claiming for something that was maybe not in your best interest but the staff member of the bank.

Personally in my opinion I would go for it, they should not intervene with any other account by stopping your overdraft and so on.
If they did then you complain, but they should not do anything.

Go for it! I have helped a relative reclaim from Barclays & it only took 2 letters, she got a response yesterday saying they have debited her account with £450 ( Not alot but, better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick )

    Good Luck
