Hi I am looking for a kind techie who will help me to help my little sis, she has just bought a new desktop PC its a Zoostorm and this is what it says about it
A good all-rounder for everyday use with a dual-core processor and a 19ins monitor. Great for all the popular applications, including email and word processing.
Intel Celeron Dual Core E3200 processor (2.4GHz). 1Gb RAM. 250Gb hard drive. 18.5ins TFT monitor. DVDRW drive. On board Intel graphics. Microsoft Works. Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic.
There were no speakers with it but now she has bought some but there is no sound coming out of them, they are switched on and she reckons that its plugged into the right jack in the back as i keep saying i am not a techie but as i have had a pc longer than her she thinks i am a techie
any help out there please. :A

Has she tested the speakers on something else, to make sure it's not the speakers themselves that are faulty?
Also check the volume controls on the computer, make sure they're not muted.0 -
She says she has checked the mutes and nothing is muted and i will ask her to try them out on her hifi or something. The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0

Just for further info the speakers need to be plugged into the GREEN socket of the tower!! (some even have a headphones icon as well)
also are the sound setting set to digital output when it should be analogue?
has she checked the volume control on the speakers aswell! If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
Is 'Audio' enabled in the BIOS?Move along, nothing to see.0

As it's a new p.c., has the manufacturers technical helpline been contacted? That should surely be the first option after initial simple checks?0
