Unfortunately 0800 numbers on some networks are more expensive then 0800 numbers. To my knowledge only prepay phones only Giffgaff gives free calls to 0800 numbers.

Most people still have landlines though (which are free to call 0800) don't they?

Remember when complaining to Santander, you really should tell them you used the free phone number because you forget and mention how much time and money it cost to call you get £5 towards your phone calls.
