I have just got a HTC Touch phone from my Dad and it is unlocked and on Orange but i am having big problems getting it to Connect using Wi-Fi from my Virgin home Broadband.
The Mobile picks up my Wi-Fi Router and i put in the Network key and then try to Connect but after i do that it just keeps saying Connecting but does nothing esle.
I did connect yesterday for about 5 mins and it worked all ok but today im having big problems with it.
I have Tried diff things to get it going like turning of the Phone bit and having just Lan on and but still with no join.
Please can i have some Advice please.

I would turn off all the security on the Virgin box and see if you can get it working with out security. Then bring the security back on to see if that is the problem.0

huggy means turn off the securitu for the wireless which would be wpa or wep but its likely to be wpa thats in use, the firewall is for the computer0 -
Apparently some HTC phones have trouble connecting if the name of the wireless router contains a space - if you have a space in the name try removing it.0

Ive had a mess around with my phone tonight and seem to have got it working using my Wi-Fi but god it was hard work!!!!
Hope Orange are not taking it off my Internet Allow that i have with them with my phone contract as have heard that some HTC phone with Orange that they block you using Your Home Wi-Fi if its not Orange Broadband.0 -
Hi rich_shot2003,
Glad you are connected. Just a couple of things though, based on your last comment-
The HTC Touch connected to your home network will not touch your allowance as you have mentioned, however if in fact you have the HTC Touch 3G, this is a UMA device and therefore when connected to your home network any usage (calls, text and data etc) will be taken from your allowance.

I know you mentioned an unlocked HTC Touch, but just in case...
