Haven't stayed there but know it well. It is just off the A48 dual carriageway some 4 miles from the City Centre. Parking is ok although, as in the rest of Cardiff, the area is a hotspot for car crime. Leave nothing in your vehicle, park it under one of the CCTV cameras and fit a good immobiliser.
Car parking isn't brilliant in the City Centre but there is a bus stop not far from the hotel.
There is very little to do in the hotel area and it is a bit out of the way on a council estate. The hotel is alongside a Harvester restaurant which is ok. You are only a 1 mile drive from a local large Asda and McDonalds by the M4.
There are several other travel type hotels all in the same area along the A48, two of which have recently changed ownership. I would imagine the Travelodge is the cheapest of them all.0 -
Thanks for the reply. We are just looking for a base to explore Cardiff, as DS2 & DD are keen to go to the Dr Exhibition and I have never visited Cardiff.
As there are 5 of us we have booked 2 rooms (1 @ £15 & 1 @ £26), so quite a good rate for school hoidays.
We are only staying the 1 night, so location isn't too much of a worry, however the car situation IS a bit worrying!0
