Masses of Books, what can I do with them ?

I have masses of books, some hard back, some paperback. All of them are to good to dump, but I just want shot of them. I have sold some on Ebay and they do go eventually at Car Boots, but it has come to the point where I really would like my garage back !!
Does anyone know where I can donate them to ? or if someone on here would like them, they are yours !!

You could donate them to your local charity shop.0

Freecycle or charity shops would be your best bet.The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

You can jot down the ISBN number and run them through here to see if you have any hidden jems and list them on amazon.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

If I were you and were just wanting rid asap... I would give to a charity shop, some even pick them up for you. I have done ebay and amazon, but both involve time (listing/posting etc and neither are sure fire shelf clearers), and in the end I give a heap to the charity shop. It is good to be free of the stuff some times.... even if you see a price tag of 35quid on one of things you have given!!! (Though its now down to a tenner and still there!!). That way you get the space, charity shop gets the chance to sell...and buyers can look through the stuff at thier leisure. If they also make a few quid so what..( you could have done too, but it takes time and patience!!)0

Are there any old people's homes/sheltered accomodation near you.
Some of my old books go to my Gran, and then get passed round various old ladies who live in the sheltered accomodation block with her! Here I go again on my own....0 -

Another smashing place to give books to is hospitals or hospices that are near you, helps pass the day for folk until their visitors or tea comes. If you obey all the rules...you miss all the fun!! Katherine Hepburn0
