Bl**dy Paypal-why email to say i've got funds when i haven't!

Earlier today i got an email from paypal You received a payment of £10.12 GBP from **** so me thinks great i'm just going to the po so i'll stick the label on that and get that posted while i'm there.
On going to ebay just now to mark as dispatched i see that the item is marked as payment not recieved.
Odd i thought as i'd had an email from paypal, so off i go to re-check emails (yes all fine says i have payment, no mention of e-cheques or not to post item yet) off i go to paypal where in fact it tells me 'Pending
This payment is still pending. If you are posting an item please wait until the payment is completed.'

What the heck do i do now? i'm fumming to be honest as i always check the email to make sure i've actually got the funds rather than an
e-cheque.

It makes no sense, doesn't say anything about it being an e-cheque or when it will actually clear, i'm concerned now that they'll get the item and cancel the payment. Has anyone come across this before?

Says this in paypal, mean anything to anyone?

I think the giveaway is 'non instant'

The instant ones say 'Notification of an Instant Payment Received from ...' in the title.

The problem is 'non-instant' wasn't anywhere in the email i only found this out after i had logged in to paypal.

What is a non-instant payment and anyone know when these clear, paypal have given no other information.

An echeque is just a very slow way of paying by paypal - usually happens accidentally when a bank card has expired. They have been known to bounce... but usually they do clear, eventually.

Deffinatley not an e-cheque i've had those before.

Buyer was from germany and according to paypal i should keep a copy of the transaction id as the buyer doesn't have one! I'm thinking they have paid with some form of credit card without a paypal account.

I've only just noticed my paypal acc is actually a premier one now  i never asked for an upgrade but i see that they can accept cc payment.
I will have to keep my fingers crossed that it clears and they don't have the abilty to cancel it. Thanks for the help although i'm still none the wiser. :(

All sellers should have a premier account at least, you can't realistically sell with a basic account as you can't take card payments. It just means that from now on you'll pay a fee for each payment you received.

thanks think it must have been a premier for a long time as i've had a pp account for yonks now. i'm still baffled by this payment though its not an echeque, what other non instant payments can be made through pp?

they give a rough date for clearance on an echeque but i don't even have that.
