Ideas: what to do while camping in Dorset next week

Hi there, we're packing up a carfull of camping equipment (car boot buys & e-bay) and we're setting off on our trip to Dorset. We'll be 5 miles from Weymouth & near Osmington. We have fairly simple tastes & will be two adults with a small dog.
Does anyone have any ideas of things to do, places to go, Charity shop shopping tips, Carboot tips, free attractions or events & markets.
(I seem to have focussed on shopping but that's not my main holiday interest.) - Oh but if you know where my nearest Lidl, Aldi Or Netto or Tesco is, that would be handy information too.
However, my request is for OS style activities in the local area.
Thanks

Hiya, there is a lidls in weymouth but for the life of me couldnt tell you how to get there! As for Tesco there is one in Dorchester which is only about 10 minutes away. There is also a huge morrisons there too but again couldnt tell you how to get there!(am i being much help here?) There are a few charity shops in weymouth town centre too. There use to be a market held in the big carpark by the train station although again cant remember what day its on! I love Weymouth and camping! We used to use a place called Warmwell but they have changed it to adults only so we cant now use it

The beach is fantastic there and you will have endless fun on there! Im sooo jealous now- i want to go!
Hope this helps just a little bit and i know most of what i have just said is probably not OS its still fun!Love is all around! :rotfl:

Hi Topher,
You may get more help with things to do in Dorset on the Travel board, so I'll move your post over there. Have a great time.

You could visit Bovington - 20 mins away. There is a huge tank museum there but if you dont want to pay the entry charge there are a few exhibits outside and a play/picnic area.
If you then drive 1 mile north of the museum up the hill past the camp, you can park up next to the tank driving area. Not much happening on the weekend but during the week you normally get to see armoured vehicles up close being put through their paces during trials or on driver training.
On the same road is the cottage where Lawrence of Arabia lived.0 -
Thanks everyone for the replies. Looking forward to it all.
