Ebay -Faulty item from china

I bought an motion plus adaptor from Ebay chinese seller costing £10.
Item does not work properly, and seller says i need to post back myself to China. Seller has refused to send out a replacement until they have the other one back.
Postage will be about £3 if i pay myself.
Just curious what are my rights as buyer on ebay from foreign sellers?

There are a few factors to consider, so my answer may not be applicable but for the purpose of this response I am assuming that you:
1) bought this item on ebay UK
2) that the seller is registered as a business
3) that you paid via Pay Pal
If my assumptions are correct you can open a SNAD with Pay Pal, it's likely that Pay Pal will instruct you to return the item to the seller at your cost - I would advise a signed for service to avoid any pitfalls, and you should then hopefully receive a replacement (and if you don't you can open an INR)0 -

To be fair seller has agreed to replace item if i send it back, but that will cost about £3 RM. I have asked seller if he will just send a new one if i pay him £3 extra rather than me paying the £3 to RM.0 -
Seller sent me a reply asking if i pay him £6 he will send me a new item out.
Hmmm still too much.
Was not keen to set up paypal dispute on "item not received" as someone suggested as i have received item, and dont feel its fair if i was seller.
any suggestions on what i can do?0 -

Don't open an INR (item not received) claim - open a SNAD (significantly not as described) claim. Pay Pal will instruct you to return the item at your cost and then the seller should provide you with the repalcement - if the replacement didn't arrive you could claim for INR0 -
There really isn't a lot you can do, and it's the risk you take when buying from China, as there's usually a strong possibility that it's a fake. It's up to you to return at your own cost it with ebay rules, and sending it tracked too.
If you're talking about the thing for the Wii remove, a new motion plus adaptor from Amazon is only £14 with free postage by the way...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
