Bricklayers - how much should I be paying

Just trying to budget for my proposed extension. Any ideas what the average cost would be to have about 2500 bricks and 400 blocks laid? IWe are in the Midlands.
At our last house the bricklayers let us down the morning they were due to start after I had ripped off the roof of my dining room from which they were to build off and I spent 2 weeks trying to find a bricklayer. They obviously knew we were desperate and I think we were ripped off a bit. We had torrential rain for the whole of that two weeks!

Matched betting proceeds so far: £505.00
