Free food from Tesco

As far as I am aware, and in my local area this is true, Tesco don't used offers such as BOGOF on reduced items they simply become the new low price. This is due to the fact that when they reduced most items they print a new barcoded label with the new price on, it is this that is then scanned and so the till does not recognise the offer such as BOGOF. However, this does not happen in sainsburys and as I used to work there I know they are fully aware of the fact. They reduce items with an orange label with just the new price on and at the till still use the normal barcode to scan it so the till will still recognise any offers and take the usual reductions off. I often get free products from Sainsburys and I don't imagine that they will change this as it has been happening for the last six years as far as i'm aware without any change in policy, they know it happens. Tesco were clearly unhappy about giving food away so they produced the barcoded labels, if sainsburys cared that much they could do the same. I'm happy to take their food of their hands for free for as long as it lasts! Hope this helps a bit.
