Free food from Tesco

Tesco makes much of its two billion quid profits. I think it is about time we ate into some of that (pardon the pun). Tesco has been giving me free food for about six or seven years and I'd like to tell you how.
When fresh food items (ready meals etc) reach their sell-by date they are marked down in price progressively during the day. My local 24-hour Tesco does so up until about 10pm. You can usually pick up items for half price. All well and good.
HOWEVER! If those reduced items are also part of a multibuy offer, say, Buy One Get One Free, the tills automatically deduct the original reduction regardless of the fact that it has been marked down.
For example: If with BOGOF the items are reduced to half price the till will charge you half price for the first one, half price for the second one and then take the full price of the second one off. i.e. both items for nothing!
If there is only one item in the reduced section you can still go to the normal shelf and the second one will be free. i.e. one-quarter face value.
Obviously, if the items are reduced by more than half, not only do you get both items for nothing but the till registers a negative charge deducting money from the rest of your shopping.
Not all multibuy reductions are as great as BOGOF but it is something to factor in if you see them in the reduced section.
As I said, I've been getting free food for six or seven years. Tesco has to be aware of this. Why they haven't written the software to correct it is beyond me - not that I'm complaining!

Thats what i was thinking Freefall. Ive often wondered if any of the companies people come onto this website and discover things then go back and get them put right. But then if it wasnt for this website we would never find out and benefit anyway so its just up to us to take advantgae while we have the chance.0
