250k buyers extra cash for 'furniture?'

hi i've accepted the offer of 250k for my flat however the estate agents are still showing people around what happens if i get another for the same value can i offer white goods or fittings etc for an amount that isnt in the mortgage value in order for them not to pay the 3% stamp duty ? Or am i asking for trouble? Do the agents get involved in this or not?

you can ask a reasonable amount for F&Fs. The most common ones are new white goods or carpets. whether the agent is involved depends on each agent and your solicitor. sometimes its the agent that negotiates it, however if contracts have been issued then you can write to your solicitor or when you complete the sellers form.

If you've accepted an offer for your flat, why on earth are you allowing the ea to continue to show people around anyway?
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Not directly related to the original poster but...

I never understand why people try and get a buyer to pay extra for the carpets. Are they really going to take them all up before they leave. The chances of them fitting or matching their new property are pretty low. The person I bought my house from tried to make me pay extra for a built in gas hob that was about 10 years old. It would have cost him more to get a gas engineer disconnect it so I called his bluff.
