IB50 Boxes

On an IB50, as I find writing difficult and painful, is it permissible just to tick the appropriate small boxes under the various headings e.g. Sitting in a Chair, Walking, Bending or Kneeling etc then in the boxes where they ask for 'More Information' write "See Separate Sheets" where on those I've typed out (on a computer) what I would have written in those 'More Information' boxes.

Thanks

    Yep, that's fine.
  • Another way is ring up the address on the phone and say that form filling is impossible because of your condition and they will have to suggest adjustments. One maybe someone filling in it with you over the telephone or at a Jobcentre.

Thanks to both of you. The main problem is that some of the boxes are too small to include everything that I want to say! Plus I want to make it as easy to read it for whoever has to read it.

I've just had a [horrible] thought they don't suspend your IB whilst you're filling out your review IB50 form do they? This is the first review I've had so I know very little about them.

    Hello,

When I filled in my husband's ESA medical form I typed the answers up on the PC and made sure they fitted on the page then stuck them onto each page. There was no way I could write small enough to fit in what I wanted to say.

When I filled in his DLA form I downloaded a PDF version of it from the net and using a PDF Editor I typed the answers directly into the boxes on each page (including ticks etc) then printed it off and sent it off as asual. Oh and we still got it backdated to the date stamp on the original form as I just attached that front sheet to the printed version.

We've had no problems doing any of these things,

    Tehya

Sorry forgot to add we've also done it your way too, on his first claim form for ESA.

No they dont suspend it, you have a total of 6 weeks to complete and return the form.

    That's a relief.:j

From what I've read there's quite a backlog over at Atos when it comes to IB50 checking and medicals so the whole process may take a while.
  • just a thought if you do type out additional info sheets make sure they include your name AND n.i. number
