Painting problem

I have had a big problem with painting a chimney breast in our master bedroom recently.
The first coat on fresh plaster was watered down magnolia and this was dry for approx 2 weeks. We then went to put Dulux Feature wall paint on as the second coat. As this went on it started to peel off taking the first coat with it exposing the bare plaster.
This is the only wall in the house it has happened to as we have been painting a second coat of magnolia (neat) onto the rest of the walls.
Any ideas why this would happen and suggestions for a possible fix. As a result of this we have wasted a load of paint and dont want this to happen again.
Thanks in advance.

could be a number of reasons. the base coat may have reacted with the top coat. were they different brands?
the wall may not have dried out properly. give it a lot more time.
or chemicals such as silicone maybe present on the wall. get a good brand wall sealer, coat first.Get some gorm.0 -
Thanks Ormus,
The wall was bonded and replastered in September last year and the base coat was put on approx 6-8 weeks ago (my bad!!)
Will unibond the wall first and repaint, it is a royal pain in the proverbial when we have wasted good paint!!! I thought it strange when this was the only wall this happened to. The paints were different brands, but the rest of the house has been done in 2 different brands and havent had this reaction.:j Norn Iron Club Member No. 343 :j0 -
maybe chemicals that have leeched through the chimney breast wall?
the chimney breast is a favourite due to all the flue gas waste products in the past.Get some gorm.0
