Can't vouch for the bread flour, but the cake mixes are lurvelly, place my orders a couple of times a year :D

*slinks back off into the abyss as this has absolutely nothing to do with the OP*
  • Wrights do say in their publicity that they cannot compete with the prices in the shops. This is because of the supermarkets ability to bulk buy and the cost of postage and packing for Wrights.

At least with Wrights, you get the total availability rather than having to visit lots of stores to get what you want.

I just hope they are at the Good Food Show again this year, so I can stock up. It worked out quite cheap last time.

If you do want really good strong bread flour then Waitrose Canadian is the one, but it is not 63p a bag, nor is it £2.40

I've just tried that and although I've always had great results from many other flours, the Waitrose Canadian was just that bit better, best I've used so far.

    UPDATE

    Delivered quickly

In boxes if 5. Inside the box of 5 they are shrink wrapped in plastic (the whole 5).

So you only open the plastic for 5 at a time (& its not that hard to use 5).

Lovely dough, the bread cuts lovely:D:T
  • Another vote for using Wrights directly for bread mix. My Mum and I do a joint order every few months, stocking up on a variety of their different mixes, including ones that you can only buy direct from them.

Of course it is cheaper not to use bread mix, but to use flour, yeast etc, but this is what works for me :D After all, isn't MSE about getting what you want, for the best price? This doesn't always mean taking the cheapest option ;)

MrsE - if you buy more from Wrights and you/your family like chilli, try their chilli bread mix - got plenty of flavour and a bit of a bite, but not overhot chilli wise :)
