1.5 kgs of strong white bread flour for £5.00:eek:

Its WRIGHTS flour, a bakery I like uses it. But not at £5.00 for 1.5kgs:eek:

I've emailed them to ask, will update you.

Anyone used it at home?

You get 5 bags of 1.5kg each, so that's £1 each, plus the postage of £6.99, so each bag would cost £2.40. Tesco bread flour does the job - last time I bought some it had gone down to 63p for 1.5kg (normally 71p)

If you do want really good strong bread flour then Waitrose Canadian is the one, but it is not 63p a bag, nor is it £2.40

The extra added by the P&P makes it ridiculously expensive, however if you order 3 cases of 5 x 1.5 Kg, then the postage is free. Then it becomes quite reasonably priced.

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Hi MrsE:hello:

Now you've had some input from the OSers, I've moved your thread to the shopping and groceries board

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!

    Thanks

If you buy 3 boxes (for £15) it only works out £1 a bag.

This works out £1 a bag & I used to use that bakery before I got my bread maker.
It's quite expensive & was near my work but a good way from my home, but I used them because the bread was lovely.

So at £1 a bag its cheaper than Waitrose Canadian & it makes fab bread for the bakers.

I reckon 3 boxes (£15) which is 15 bags at 1.5kg per bag would last me about 5 months.

Would I need to store it in a special way?

So how much is it then? I use sainsburys or tesco bread flour, depending which supermarche I'm in

I wonder if it would be better merged with the bread / bread machine threads?
