keeping my tiled walk in shower clean

any ideas? i have a tiled walk in shower with large limestone typre tiles and thick white grout and want ot keep it looking good as new. It only has a fixed shower head so cant really direction it to clean the walls.. is there anytihng i can spray on and leave or do i need to physically wash them down?

  • My shower was installed over 15 years ago and it still looks good now. Each time the shower is used I wipe down the tiles with a small towel, if you don't the grout goes discoloured eventually!

    Hi…

The first thing is to start with a clean grease free surface i.e.: new tiled walls and with all traces of grout dust completely wiped of…

Take a bucket of tepid water and add to it; 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Wipe over all tiled areas, rinse off twice with clean tepid water.

Allow washed surfaces to dry thoroughly…

Apply an even coat of “Clear Car Polish” one that DOES NOT contain any colorant at all. You have been warned… Follow the manufactures instructions of use.

Apply monthly at first, then when you are happy you can progress to applying quarterly…

However, the best “TIP” of all

Is never put a bulb in your back pocket and sit down…

We wash our white tiled shower down by spraying with diluted vinegar/washing up liquid mix. Agitate with one of those large car cleaning brushes - sort put on end of hose - leave for 10 mins and rinse off. If any signs of mould, then use diluted bleach/washing up liquid mix (spray on) soak and rinse off. Remember to keep room well ventilated when using the above.
