address labels

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has a template/advice for printing address labels?
Currently I copy and paste my buyers address onto a word document and then print them off...then get out my scissors and tape the labels to the envelopes using clear tape (great as the ink does not run should the parcel be exposed to the rain!) but I would like to save a little time and begin printing directly onto sticky labels but I'm not sure how do do it?

I do exactly the same as you, Kestrel.
However I find it annoying when buyers have got their postcode in lower case as I have to changed all the letters to capitals! My daughters are my world0 -
ah well I can help you with that emerald_starcat...
When you're on your word document highlight all of the addresses in their entirity, then at the top of your screen select "format" then "change case" then "uppercase"
Job done!0 -

If you google "Avery address label template" there should be a free one on the Avery site for MS Word

excellent, thanks for the info, I will have a look later but may be back for hints and tips if I'm struggling with anything (I'm a bit of a techie-phobe with things like this!)0

I have a Dymo Label Printer.
Cost £70, but I love my gadgets, so not really moneysaving but oh well!
We all have to treat ourselves sometime lol.

You could try Selling Manager Pro that does it for you.
There are a couple of others, I believe you can do it through Smart Stamp if you print your postage. There are probably some other programs that do it too..0 -
I use LL14 address labels, 14 to a sheet, which cost around £8 for 100 sheets online. LL14 is compatible with Avery L7163 format. I cut and paste the addresses onto the label template - avery.com's site has a wizard for downloading their formats. Then select all, format to Arial 12 (good for six lines of address) and select uppercase. The five line addresses I highlight (hold down the ctrl key and choose what text I want to increase with the mouse) and increase the text size to 14. The seven line addresses I do the same trick to , be decreasing the font to 11. Then I just print it manually, i.e. selecting manual option on the print screen, and feed the labels into the printer manually. Works like a dream.0

It all depends on the type of label. I use A5 size, i.e. two per sheet. Made my own template in Word by using text boxes A5 size. Thar way I can add my own touchest.
I got my labels from ebay - bargain. They stick like brown stuff to a blanket.0 -
