You need a DSL router, the ethernet from the back of your telewest plugs into the back of the router and away you go,
my brother has the same connection and he got the linksys WG54G or soemthing like that which needed no set up (apart from security when he realised there were 5 people on it...)
i think it was £50 so dont pay more than that for it!0 -
You need a DSL router
Why? I thought Telewest supply Cable?
I purchased my NTL (which now owns Telewest incidentally) capable router from these people: http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/default_ShopGroup.asp?ShopGroupID=12 I ordered one Thursday it was with me the next day, very efficient. They even have their own forums where you can seek advice on which router is best for your needs: http://forums.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/
Alternatively, NTL\Telewest have their own 'shop': http://www.ntlshop.ntlworld.com/webstore/search.aspx?CatId=15&GroupRelationSelected=350302
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -

Cable/DSL router is the same thing..
You need one of these:

If you get this one

there is a guide on how to make it secure here: (as well as answers to common questions)
