am going to collect item, do i pay cash or paypal?

Hi everyone, Ive recently won an item local to me so I am going to collect rather than pay postage. :p

Item isnt worth much (£3.20) so I have agreed with seller to pay cash on collection.

However , I wandered how then ebay know that I have paid for it? I know that for sellers if a buyer pays paypal and then collects they could have buyer saying item not received as paypal will not be able to track it.

But i wandered what happens if a buyer pays cash and then seller decides to state that they were not paid for item. Can they take out a non paid item strike etc?

If anyone can help id be ever so grateful
:j

  • I have bought many things on ebay where I have collected and paid cash on collection - bundles of baby clothes, furniture, a bean bag and loads more and never had a problem.

With regards to ebay knowing that you've paid just mark it as 'payment sent' on the item in my ebay, the seller will then mark it as dispatched.

I suppose you may get dishonest buyers and sellers out there, but I've never had any problems.

I wouldn't worry about it, just pay cash and don't give it a second thought. Sellers can accept postal orders, cheques etc and there is no way of "tracking" those payments really.

Mark it as "payment sent" in your my ebay section and in the highly unlikely event that the seller opens UPI make sure you respond to it in the resolution centre.
  • If the seller says you haven't paid, you can pay by paypal and then after a few days open an "item not recieved". They didn't send it so they won't have tracking so you will get a refund. You can then leave appropriate feedback.
