car tax refund and notification of car selling!!!

I part exchanged my car last weekend at a car dealer and i want to claim from the DVLA a refund for 6 months car tax left on my sold car. their website says to not send claim for refund until you send the yellow slip to notify of selling the car. we are getting t the end of March and i dont want to lose on the refund for april!!!my question is can i subiltt the yellow slip and the tax disc at my local (birmingham) DVLA? apparantly they can take the tax discs but i am not sure about the sale slips!!!

    Yes, you can. They will also date stamp it, so you know that they got in before the end of the month.

    expect to wait six weeks or so for your refund though.....

    The lease on my car was up recently and they wanted the whole V5 back so i just declared sorn on the car.

    I know I know. But I just signed the form and sent it off to Mercedes Benz finance. I felt I had enough proof of when the car was collected if there were any problems.

    And sent the sorn form off to dvla.

    sorry but my qustion was to Ian1....will they accept the yellow slip at local DVLA?

    yes they will accept the yellow slip. they dont want the rest, thats for the new keeper.
