Tues 23rd March - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Gooooood morning!hijump.gifhijump.gifhijump.gif

Hope all well today - it was a busy thread yesterday, lots of keen dfws abouthi5.gif
Not sure if I'll go to work yet - my dd2 had to be brought home from school at lunchtime yesterday not well - still got hot then coldness and constant headache - will see how she is when she wakes up.head%20cold.gif

My LSD went out the window yesterday - bought girls a new trampoline - not used our old one in this house and it's past it now - been rotting in a corner of the garden in a box for nearly 2 years.....I'm a popular mum right nowhyper.gifHSlol.gif

Anyway, must crack on - here's my list:
  • check banking
  • daily scratch
  • washing is on already - quickwashHSwash.gif
  • washing on the line hopefully - sun is out!th_sunsmilie.gifth_sunsmilie.gif
  • packed lunches for girls
  • NSD hopefully
  • post ebay parcel
  • meal from plan tonight - pork steaks and roast pots, veg etcHShungry.gif
  • pork out of freezer to defrost
Ok, that's all for now - there might be more if I get a sneaky day off with dd!!!

HSbgreatday.gif Bye for now!!!

    Morning everyone

I had quite a productive day yesterday, got all my jobs done. Back at work today though . But by Thursday next week, I will hopefully never have to go back there again as I am trying to go self employed :j.

Anyway, my OH is coming over tonight so I probably won't get much done as he hogs my laptop . So, today I will:
    • [STRIKE]Do free game on Jackpotjoy[/STRIKE]

    • Complete any surveys I receive (got 100 points on Yougov yesterday :))
    • [STRIKE]Email my friend from work (in work time )[/STRIKE]
    • Put a wash on and hang on airer to dry
    • Read a chapter of my book
    • [STRIKE]Check for mystery shops[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]LSD (Need to buy some more bottles of drink, around £1.50)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Take cottage pie out of freezer for lunch tomorrow[/STRIKE]
That will do for today. Will be more productive tomorrow when I can get near my laptop.

Have a good day everyone

    Morning all! :hello:

More productive day than yesterday I hope. Sickie is back today but another off on holiday so another stressful day - at least this one was expected/planned so I'm not in such a tiz.
    Right - today I will/have:
    - Frozen my a** off and put storage heater back on in DD's bedroom! Left the others off though, we can put more clothes on! lol
    - Checked banking, paypal transfer not cleared yet
    - Checked CC's on line, as I made PAD to most yesterday to get the balances to multiples of 5 and will endeavour to do this every month. lol, I'm such a weirdo sometimes.
    - Lunch and dinner from stores, something with chicken as that's what's out of the freezer
-Have two opportunities to sell purges today and will certainly do it as didn't do any yesterday (being that I had my head up my a** all day trying to get through the day!)
    - Will tidy up work from yesterday, checking for bits that I have missed! Probably loads...boo!
    - DM picking up DD from nursery today so will save a small amount of fuel and go straight home instead of round the houses.
    Have a happy tuesday x
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

Mornin everyone, hope ur Tuesday is looking bright! Weather is looking good here now the fog has cleared, yay!

I was very productive yesterday(nd very much so since I started posting on this thread -in the last week I have reduced our monthly DD's by £54.50 for the next 2 mnths, and then by £42,50 after that!), nd have some personal things I need to sort out so feel ok about not being so productive today ;)Personal things took more time and head space than I had expected so took an unexpected day off (oh no I am one of those ppl who causes others, mostly me at my work place, extra work - am feeling incredibly guilty :(. Although because I work with ppl with enduring mental health problems with complex needs it was best to take time and make up time throughot the rest of the week). On the plus side saved £4 petrol!

    Today I will:
    • [STRIKE]HM lunch[/STRIKE] left over soup, mmmmmm
    • [STRIKE]defrost meatballs from freezer for dinner tonight[/STRIKE] I suppose its my turn to cook seeing as have been at home all day :o
    • [STRIKE]check onepoll to see if cashback has been awarded, do any surveys[/STRIKE] still not in. Anyone else been paid cashback from onepoll???
    • [STRIKE]phone insurance company as they haven't come back to me since Thurs and don't want the 14 day cool off period to elapse[/STRIKE] phoned nd was kept waiting for ages on hold. Still no decision, cooling off period ends friday. Nd to add insult to injury I was told if I cancel I will get a £25 admin charge. Tried to argue with him that I hadn't broke the contract, they had as I had given them all of the details when I got the quote, entered into a contract for £386 where they protected my NCD. The contract I want to break is the one I didn't agree to for £476 nd no NCP!!! I can see this is going to run nd run. Going to give them until Thurs but did a quote and can get what I want for £405 so even wit the "admin fee" (my eye, I'll send them the paper and a SAE so they can reduce it to a reasonable admin fee!!!!) I get a better deal
    • [STRIKE]NSD - 2nd in a row! Will leave cards at home so cannot spend anything[/STRIKE] :)
    • go straight to gym on way home from work :o:o:o:o
ok that's enough, I have to work as well (:o)! I wish everyone luck with their lists :)

Hi all, I've had to move my work days around this week to take OH to hospital this morning and my Mum to hospital this afternoon. Am a bit ahead of myself today as OH's colleague rang this morning at 5.30 am  and woke us up ( He is in Australia and got his times mixed up!). DFW things today:

    1) Packed lunches for kiddies
    2) Surveys ( made about £6 yesterday)
    3) Approved Food order arriving
    4) Collect a bench from Argos for my Mum's bday paid for with Nectar points.( About 5 years worth! Nowhere near as good as Clubcard points)
    5) Buy Daily Mirror and collect Lego car for secret Lego stash. 6) Take B to the theatre tonight to see Oklahoma! She is a big musical fan and I got the tickets cheap through work. Will park across town in a cheap spot.
    7) Check banking, quidco do SC etc
    8) Hokey cokey

Will let you know if I think of anything else! Have a good day, L x
