Simple Query about No Claims Bonus

I am the named policy holder and my wife is the named driver.

I have just recently had an accident and claimed off the insurance.

Would Wifeys NCB be affected or stay intact? Im just trying to work out if it'd be easier to make her the policy holder when renewing?

Thanks

Unless with Directline (or a few others), your wife doesn't have any NCB. Only the policy holder earns NCB.

(By the way, there's an actual insurance forum that would be better for questions like this.)

The answer you're looking for is no, allowing for the previous post. Considered protected NCB? I take it you don't have a 2nd car in your wifes name? If you do then I think it would effect her premium but not her no claims. ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

How do you know, if he has several years it will not all be lost;)

It was a subtle bit of advice that if he had PNCB he would still have whatever NCB he had intact, of course that option is now not available. ;);)

Does your wife have seperate NCB of her own?
I think some of the posters on here are making assumptions (EDIT - on perhaps they have info from other posts)

I am a named driver on my husbands policy but I have my own NCB in my own right from my own car.

We need to know this info before you can be given correct answers.

So what NCB does she have?
    1) None
    2) Named driver NCB (from Direct line or similar)
    3) Her own from seperate policy

If it's 3) then her NCB is unaffected.

The asnwers given so far MAY not be correct because we do not have enough information (unless other people know stuff I don't from previous posts).
