I have Epson DX4400 all in one printer. Replaced ink catridges [bought from Amazon]
After installing the catridges, I am surprised to see the message that there is no ink.
Changed 'different set of catridges' still the same problem.......
I urgently need the printer working, any help is much appreciated:)

Don't know the specifics with Epson, but could it be that your printer used chipped cartridges and you have installed non chipped ones? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Epsons are funny ones, the printers look for different chips (epson release updates to the chips that are backwards compatible with the old ones) some compatibles use the older chips and therefore wont work in the newer printers.0

What should I do now?

Contact seller for a replacement or refund.

Download and install the SSC Service Utility for Epson Printers.
http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtm
On the box does it tell you what CHIP version, should be 5 6 or 7, 7 is the newest chip, could be that the compatibles you bought from the seller are his OLD stock and hence could be version 4 or lower, newer printers require a higher chip.
As you didnt post how much you paid, if the seller will give you a refund, i would get that.
I never buy my ink through amazon. I always buy my ink from ink-power through ebay.

14inks for £10.99, 3sets + 2 extra black, chipped 7, upto 2 year shelf life. usually contain 12 - 18ml per cartridge depending on printer.

sorry if this is a really silly question but have actually tried to print anything? My printer after i had the cartridges refilled told me i was out of ink but it still happily prints things.. sorry if you have tried ( but read it as you stopped when it said there was not ink)0

I have an Epson Stylus SX200 fitted with remanufactured inks. When I go to print, a message comes up ' not original cartridges, do you want to proceed' so I tick 'continue'. Everything works OK.0

the Epson printers that I have used simply refue to print if the chip in the cartridge says it is empty. The cartridge may not even be near empty- but is set by the printer to countdown for every print job it does.
I would like to be able to get the resetter program to work on my girlfriends epsonC44UX but although everything else works fine, the resetter utility wont recognise the printer or cartridgesDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0
