Fed up with ebay and policies.

Hi all, this is my first post so please be kind:-:)
I recently sold a dress on ebay to which the buyer claimed she had not recieved it after only 7 days since the auction had ended, and opened up a dispute against me. I replied to her and said that royal mail would not class a parcel was missing until 15 working days from the date of posting.(I sent it as a standard packet, not tracked). The next day she black mailed me by saying if I did not give her an immidiate refund her feedback would reflect my reluctance to issue a refund, which is feedback extortion.
I contacted ebay who did not want to know.
Then she left neg feedback saying " seller won't refund - waiting 4 Ebay resolution Avoid".
The first point to make is I never said I would not refund her which is a lie.
The second point is that it states in ebays policies that putting a leaving feedback which contains reference to a case which is open breeches there policy and the person that leaves this can be struck of from ebay and the feedback will be removed.
I replied to this feedback wth the following "waiting for royal mail to confirm item has indeed not been delivered but has got lost". to which she replied "Not going 2 rip u off for 99 pence u have previously left Neg 4 similar".
She has breached another policy by refering to another feedback to a different transaction which she is not allowed to do.
The item still has not turned up so I refunded her money.
I have spent hours on the phone fighting my side of the case to get ebay to remove this feedback which has been written as a complete lie & is a defimation against my character, but I need to fill out forms and send them to Ireland "The department I need to speak to don't have phone lines". I also wanted to complain about ebay and there policy about them letting people being treated in this way, but guess what, you have to write, again they don't have a phone number (I WONDER WHY).
So when I said that to send stuff recorded delivery would put my postage costs up and because of that people would not buy from me they said drop the starting price to compensate for the rise in p+p, but my auctions all start at 99p how much lower can I go.
So my conclusions are this:-
1) Ebay do not abide by there own policies.
2) There is NO protection for sellers.
3) They don't dissmiss allegations against a persons character.
So if you win an item on ebay which has not been sent with tracking and you say it has not arrived, Ebay will always come down in favour of the buyer!
I am a honest ebayer but I feel my honesty is just not good enough.

You fell for a very basic mistake i'm afraid. The rR claiming time frame is absolutely nothing at all to do with the buyer. The moment you start dictating your own contract terms with RM to your buyer you run the risk of a neg, and that's what has happened in this case.
A week is probably a bit early for a refund, but if your 1st email had been calmer, maybe asking them to wait another 2 or 3 days and then a refund would be given. You have to refund anyway, never antagonise buyers by looking as though you are going to make them wait three weeks.
The feedback is borderline fo rmentioning a dispute and otherwise it is correct surely, you wouldn't refund?
It also has nothing at all to do with your honesty, buyer isn't saying you didn't send th egoods, they are just saying they didn't arrive. They are therefore due a full refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
