Ah - that sucks! How long had you had it for? My classic just did the same thing - for no apparent reason - & as it's out of warrenty I'm now in the market for an ipod touch as well.
Question - is there any internet security when using the touch for browsing on public (free) wifi? I'm a bit concerned about spyware (or virus?) if I were to check email whilst out n about....0 -
Occasionally Apple have discounted iPod Touches on their Refurb Store.
As for viruses, unless you have a jailbroken iPod Touch, there's no need to worry. Software has to be digitally signed by Apple before it'll run.0 -
Apple control the market very well and you're unliklely to find an iPod touch at a significant discount. The only options really are to wait until Black friday, just before Christmas, when Apple tend to have a sale. Or do as Marty suggest and look at the refurb store. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Best price i've seen is Dixons £139.95. I need to get one tomorrow for DS3 who has had a nasty fallen and now has his arm in plaster from wrist to armpit after a 3 hour op! Is this likely to be the best price I'll find? thanksThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Not sure if this helps, but if you're passing through an airport there are better prices to be had - Dixons at Manchester airport currently have 32gb at £194.89 and 64gb at £254.47 (I know cos I was tempted this morning!)0

That's not what you have to worry about, you just have to remember that when using unencrypted WiFi anyone nearby can intercept everything you send so if the site you're visiting doesn't use end to end encryption anything you send (or receive) will be viewable in plain text, including passwords. WEP isn't very much better either.0
