Quick question about combined postage

Had a buyer buy & pay for 1 item from me at 1.15pm then 20 minutes later buy & pay for another item. I have just taken some money from my Paypal account so don't have enough in to refund both payments at the moment but am expecting a few more payments (hopefully some more sales) before Monday when I will be posting these.

Would you refund both payments (£3 each inc postage) then send a new invoice with combined postage on (saving buyer only 50p), or send both items out together in one parcel or send each item out seperate?

I'd refund both payments and reinvoice for the total... simply for the reason that you'll save money on fees.

How do you save money on fees by combining p&p?

I'd send them seperately and put a 50p piece in one of them as refund. Refunding the PP payment might confuse them.

I would do exactly as Shelly has said - pop the 50p in the parcel..much easier all round!
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

If they've made two separate payments, you'll pay less in fees by refunding them and getting the payment combined as one.

Obviously you don't count the 50p... but you might as well save yourself a few pence on paypoo fees :)

  • I've refunded both payments & sent a new invoice. Each payment took a 30p fee so if I was to just sent them together without doing it this way I would have only been able to send 20p back which seems pointless.
