Thomas cook Name change

Was wondering if any of you lovely people could help.

Booked a package holiday with Thomas Cook in store. We are due to fly 7th June.

However, one of the passengers has fallen out with the other one. Theres no chance they are making up and i'm just the unlucky one stuck in the middle.

One friend is adament she is not coming. She is the lead passenger.

I've found someone else to go. Does anyone have any idea how much we will be charged to change the ticket. Some people have told me £150++ which we really can't afford. I have paid for my share of the holiday on my credit card. Would this offer any protection?

She will have to speak to the agent and state she is willling for the name to be changed

It shouldnt cost you more than 50 pounds

You have no need to pay on your CC for extra protection, your holiday is completely financially secure

Lucky for you she is being agreeable, because the lead passenger can decide everything. It will cost you £35 just for a name change, get it done asap and get yourself put as the lead passenger because although you have paid in full now, up until 56 days before she could cancel it all and everyone would lose their deposits. I don't think people realise when they book their hols how much power the lead passenger has.

I'm sorting it tomorrow. She's now being a little akward as she says she will just post the documents. I've told her she needs to be there to change me to the lead passenger.

Bit of a moral dilema. She's decided not to come. Who pays the fee to change the name? I say her.

Yes, but tell her that when you have been signed over as lead passenger.

She's lucky you've found someone else.

Ooh dear keep her onside until you're lead passenger or you're up the river without a paddle. Normally what would happen here is she loses her deposit as she's backed out and the new person pays for the name change or if the new person is nice they could split the deposit and the name change 50/50. If you cant get her to go to travel agents ask the travel agent to ring her and ask her to put it in writing that you are the new lead passenger and she doesnt want to go anymore, but keep her sweet till its sorted or you could lose all 3 deposits and she may cancel the holiday completely.

    Thanks for all your advice!

All sorted and they only charged us £35. The manager did keep coming over asking if the agent had checked the price of the holiday etc.

I'm not the lead passenger but my friend is :)
