Not fab on whites, does that mean it's greying?
If so, you've not removed the dirt, that's what the grey is along with general discolouration from dirt in the wash that's not held in suspension correctly.
Which is why the recommended dose is what it is.
There's ingredients in all the branded detergents that remove calcium and hold the dirt in suspension so it doesn't get re-deposited on the clothes. Cheating it only leads to you wearing the dirt you just had on and the eventual degradation of the clothing. And, apart from that, without the correct dose there's not enough "builders" in there to remove calcium so you can get scaling problems, then you need to buy stuff that is supposed to cure that problem, descaler. If you work it our it's actually cheaper to use the right thing the correct way in the first place as it's cheaper than buying all the "add-ons" that you don't need.
Which is the point of the forum I suppose, to save money. So, doing it right, you save on clothes being done in early, smell nicer, don't have needless service calls and you don't have to buy a whole load of extra stain removal and descaling products.
Wow, who knew eh?
