ipoints - Free Xbox 360 for £34.88 spend

ipoints are currently offering an Xbox 360 Arcade edition in exchange for 19,900 points:

http://www.ipoints.co.uk/catalogue/reward/8418/xbox-360-console

They are also giving a very generous 5,000 points per transaction with Dell:

http://www.ipoints.co.uk/collect-ipoints/details/9c90ffd888e8/dell-home-office

The cheapest transaction I can find on Dell is a Belkin cable for £8.72 inc. VAT and shipping. I doubt there's anything cheaper, as the cable itself is 49p - it's the VAT and shipping that bring it up to £8.72 - and the 5,000 points is per transaction not per item, so they have to be done in separate orders.

So a spend of £34.88 earns you enough points for the Xbox.

The ipoints T&Cs for the Dell offer say "Maximum five separate transactions per member" so I can't see any problem with doing this.

Can anyone give me any pointers on how to use ipoints? This is the first time I have heard of it. Thanks.

If Dell / ipoints follow through with this deal then that's quite a bargain for anyone wanting to try it as the cheapest XBOX arcade is about £120 from browsing google!

It does say about the fair usage policy so they could fall back onto that but you never know, worth trying perhaps!

5000points is worth £20 so would still be a great deal. I'm not doing this as I don't believe dell will pay out and would be down £35 with nothing to show for it

remember as well if you use my supermarket for your shopping every week you can collect the ipoints there too. They have always tracked for me, but i can't remember what the email said but it said they were changing their name?
