Bolt/screw stuck fast - please help!

Don't use an impact driver. The casing and part that the screwed into is only plastic and the force of the impact driver is likely to shatter the plastic making for an expensive repair/replacement. Definitely try to drill the head first and take it slowly so that the heat build up doesn't melt the plastic.

use a hand drill..... or keep the electric as slow as possible......!smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Looks like the drill it will have to be...boyf will be over on Friday with the electric drill. I would buy a hand drill except I don't think it will be strong enough, it is a fairly large bolt/screw. Thanks for all your suggestions guys but it's the stubbornest thing I ever came across!

Is it left or right hand thread? I remember once trying for ages to get a bolt with screw slot undone only to find that it was lefthand thread! If you are going to drill start with small size bit and work up in size - a drop of oil will help with lubrication 'cos it will get hot!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0
