Repayment ID used by Agent without Tenants Written Consent!

Dear Friends,

My letting agent used my repayment id to process deposit from DPS without me agreeing for the deposit repayment amount...

he took 200 and only processed 295 without my consent..

when i contacted ADR - DPS,they are saying the deposit is already processed and you need to take legal advice to get this 200 pounds..

The only mistake i did is trusted him and gave me my repayment id which is confidential one and should not be shared with anyone else..

please advise on how can i get my 200 balance of deposit back from this agent / landlord..

when i asked ..he is simply saying you agreed..i told you..no written / email proof..he is not having any receipts for 200 pounds...he is simply saying 50 for cleaning and 150 for rusty oven..(please note that oven was rusty already and is written clearly in inventory)..also we gave him the house more clean as it was when we took it initially....

also he has not bothered to reply or resolve tenants issues during my agreement..

now,if he is doing this to me ..he can do to ne1 else..so i wanna teach a lesson to this agent and get my deposit balance of 200 back..please help me to get this and stop this guy by any wrongdoing in future!!!!

Cheers!

You gave him your repayment ID which is supposed to be kept confidential, and now you want the DPS to give you back the money he took - it's like giving someone the PIN number to your credit cards and then expecting the bank to pay you back.
There's nothing the DPS can do, like they said, contact a solictor and get legal advice if you want to sue the agent for the balance of the deposit.
