F-Secure Anti-Virus Software is installed, it may have been corrupted, uninstall it, reboot and reinstall it, reboot then update the definitions and should work properly again.

fspex.exe is a process associated with F-Secure Anti-Virus Software. It is an automatic updater for F-secure. This process is vital to your system security and should not be removed to ensure that your computer stays protected

    edit ....snap :)

Also when I log onto the pc it is now giving me a runner error - Runner File Name (fspex.exe) lack a '-' (the app id separater)

and it won't let me update talk talk or ewido anti spyware

    Thanks

looks like some sort of problem with their talk talk package.

Uninstall the internet protection package they give you and replace it with a free anti virus like AVG

    http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-free

and a free firewall like Kerio

(ignore the bit about the 30 day trial, it's just for some extra's you don't need, the firewall will still work after 30 days :) )

    Thanks for the replies

We have uninstalled the talk talk security and installed "Avast" and the internet is running much faster.

AVAST is a free anti virus system that checks all the system including archive files and is free on re-registration after 12 months.

Even though we had wireless broadband TT would not support the lap top on their security - the code for the upgrade could only be used on the pc. So we have been using Avast on the laptop for a month with no problems
