Corgi / gas checks when renting

I am renting and during the winter the local Corgi gas engineer came to do a Corgi gas check. He issued an official warning on some of the appliances, which was sent to me and the landlord, but the landlord has done nothing about it. Despite my asking.
What is my position legally on this?
Any advice gratefully received.

Extremely high penalties for the landlord because of the potential to kill you.
Get the environmental services of your local council to inspect the property asap if your landlord continues to be apathetic, treat it as if your life depends on it.

It depends a bit on what the 'official warning' actually said.
If it's Not Current Standards (NCS) then the installation does not meet current standards but is not a safety risk and is considered safe to use.
If it's an At Risk (AR) then the installation is safe at the moment, but may become unsafe. This typically happens with older (open flue) boilers / back-boilers and ventilation grilles in the wall. It is safe as long as the boiler burns cleanly but if it ceases to do so, eg through sooting up, then the lack of ventilation means that a dangerous situation could arise. Carbon monoxide from incomplete combustion can kill.
If it's Immediate Danger then the appliance is disconnected and it is an offence to reconnect it.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Cheers for your replies. Much appreciated.
I have checked the warning and it is Not Current Standards (NCS), but the landlord has still ignored my contact about it.0 -
As Owain says the appliance is safe just not to the current standards, no action needs to be taken.0

Just to clarify, the 'standards' change on a regular basis - well every few years. So a boiler installed in 2003 was perfectly safe and met the then current (2003) standards. However it might not meet the NOW current 2010 standards.
There is no requirement for it to be updated to the new standards (otherwise the whole country would be constantly replacing their boilers every time the standards changed!)
The engineer would have made it clear if it was actually dangerous.
ps - CORGI is no more. It's GasSafe now.0
