What timeframe in your exp/opinions?

Afternoon all.
Just wondered if anyone could advise or, from experience, knows how long this should take.
Have sold my property and bought another. All searches etc are done on my new house etc and we and they are ready to go.
I have had a delay with my buyer (which will go through eventually) but today decided to apply for another mortage and put money in of my own as deposit to get into new house quickly.
Have sent application today am and instructed new valuation report to be done asap via new mortgage company.
Assuming there are no delays (re extra requests from Mortgage co) how quickly should I be able to exchange and complete?
